MILKY WAY & MOONBOWS

To photograph moonbows, you need a certain amount of moonlight along with a few other conditions in place. To photograph the Milky Way, you really don’t want much moonlight at all. To photograph a moonbow and the Milky Way in one scene, well, it’s pretty wonderful if you ask me!! I had the pleasure of spending some time at Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park a few weeks ago and this is a time lapse video that I was able to capture. Of the three nights that I visited the park, three of the nights I saw the Milky Way, two of the three nights I saw full moon bows, and the third night I saw a sliver/partial moonbow very low in the steam vent itself. To know that I went into this mission not expecting any particular outcome (photographically speaking) and having THIS as the end result makes my heart so incredibly happy! I love that I am constantly amazed by the beauty that is EVERYWHERE!! The moments that take my breath away are much more common than I ever could’ve imagined. I am so grateful... See more

Aloha! Please enjoy this relaxing footage of one of my most recent deep sea adventures. This video features Short Finned Pilot Whales, a Spotted Eagle Ray, a majestic Manta Ray, shimmering sun rays, a Hawaiian Jellyfish, a brief visit from a Humpback Whale, and even a mermaid at the very end! I invite you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the next three minutes and twenty seconds of underwater magic...🌊💙🧜‍♀️ And as always, mahalo for watching! Video Credit ~ Sara Marie Photography

Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins, Spotted Dolphins, and a Beautiful Hawaiian Jellyfish

Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins and Hawaiian Spotted Dolphins are two of the more common types of dolphins found here in Hawaiian waters. They are some of the most playful and joyful animals on this earth and should be admired with love, safety, and respect. Jellyfish are always best to be admired from afar....but in all reality, they are gorgeous!! This video footage is from 3/15/2021. All footage was filmed while simply floating and staying still as the dolphins and jelly fish continued to swim about their day. Please enjoy my video!! And as always, please respect and take care of the ocean and it’s animals.

Underwater Adventure

An unexpected day off last week turned into an underwater adventure! It had been awhile since I spent much time in the ocean, so I was really REALLY happy to be able to spend a few hours with my underwater friends! 🌊🧜‍♀️🐢🐠 Yellow tang, honus, an eel.......and what the heck kind of fish is that beautiful one with the electric blue patterns and lines on it?? I LOVE it!! Soooo gorgeous!! I remember the first time I took my GoPro out on a solo underwater mission. I saw this same kind of fish and though I had gotten some footage of it, only to find out when I got home that I indeed did NOT ... See more

Fun to watch! - I'm not sure, but this may be the first video I have seen that shows a honu from below.
