Tsunami Site Visit - 1946 and 1960 Hilo Tidal Waves

These two deadly events forever altered life on the Big Island of Hawaii, ending some industries while allowing room for others to begin. The traumatic loss of life encountered in Shinmachi and Laupahoehoe, Hawaii defined how future generations would utilize coastal lands.
