Compilation of USGS Footage The first 6 months of the Kilauea eruption on Hawaii Island is now in the books. Lava first emerged on Sept, 29th, 2021, and continues today at the time of publication with no real signs of stopping anytime soon. This eruption has created some of the best and most accessible lava viewing inside the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
