4:17 AM · Sep 3, 2021

The USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory has deployed a temporary camera to the area of the recent underground magma intrusion near Sand Hill, south of the Kilauea Caldera and Halema'uma'u. "Dark flow on the left of image (midground) is where the 1982 lava flow spilled out of the south caldera. Foreground is Sand Hill and the background shows north facing faults. This temporary view covers the area of Aug 2021 seismicity, and is looking south." ~ USGS Live feed: https://hvo.wr.usgs.gov/cams/KOcam/images/M.jpg
