New Growth on the 2018 Lava Flows

Good News: There are ample amounts of ʻŌhiʻa keiki trees popping up on lava flows from the 2018 eruption of Kīlauea. The ʻŌhiʻa is known to colonize recent lava flows, and is one of the first plants to return following an eruption to inundated areas. The Less Good News: There are plenty of Albizia starts on the new flows as well....
