M3.9 earthquake near Waimea at 1:17am this morning

Not long after midnight, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 rocked Waimea. At a depth of 11.3km, the location and depth of this quake suggest it's related to flexing and settling of the lithosphere under the humongous weight of the island.
