Latest update from the USGS-HVO on the Mauna Loa eruption

Part way through the update HVO scientist in charge Ken Hon mentioned a "dirt Hilo-Kona Road" that was crossed already. This road is mapped on topographic maps and much to my surprise you can find it on Google maps as Hilo Kona Hwy in spite of that it goes basically from nowhere (OK, it starts at the road to the Maunaloa Observatory) to nowhere (it just ends, it was never finished). For those who may have been confused by his remark, he was not talking about Saddle Road/the Daniel K Inouye Highway.
