7:27 AM · Jan 3, 2021

Almost two weeks into Kīlauea’s 2020 summit eruption: -The lava lake has resumed filling Halema’uma’u crater -Gas emissions remain somewhat steady -Pressure appears to be dropping on the volcano -The northern vent spatter cone is almost fully submerged We present a summary of USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory data & imagery spanning the last 3 days, and a 5-second thermal time-lapse of the entire eruption thus far. We review the lingering vog (volcanic fog) on the downwind communities across Hawaiʻi Island, and take live viewer questions at the end of the broadcast.
