Kilauea Flashback, 1842

Kilauea by Day & Kilauea by Night, (1842), by Titian Peal Titian Peal was the chief naturalist on the US Exploring Expedition's journey across the Pacific Ocean, which included Hawaii Island in 1842. He made two oil on canvas paintings of the active eruption inside of Halema'uma'u. While the crater itself looks different today, somethings don't really change.
