The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County * Until 530 PM HST. * At 221 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over the greater Hilo area. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 3 inches per hour. * Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to... Hilo, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Keaau, Mountain View, Hawaiian Acres, Orchidland Estates, Glenwood, Papaikou, Kurtistown, Wainaku, Fern Acres, Paukaa, Eden Roc, Ainaloa and Hawaiian Beaches. Thought I had put in an update that the flood advisory was canceled as of 4:30 pm - the flash flood watch remains in effect.

The island-wide flash flood watch has been extended to 6 pm Monday 3/15/21. Also, HPD reports that East Kawailani Street between Kanoelehua Ave and Ahuna Road in Hilo closed due to flooding. Please use alternate route - https://local.nixle.com/alert/8596618/
