Drones On - May 7th & 8th, 2018 Kilauea Eruption - Day 5 & 6 - Four New Fissures

Combined footage of days 5 & 6 of the 2018 Kilauea Eruption, May 7th and 8th. Fissures 11-14 emerge at far ends of Leilani Estates, but overall the eruption is calmer than the previous couple days. This series tells one version of the 2018 Kilauea eruption on the Lower East Rift Zone, where lava erupted in a residential neighborhood. The story is told through available footage from many sources, including USGS, Hawaii Count Civil Defense, DoD, National Guard, DLNR, and private citizens. This series will go through each day of the eruption and tell the story from the lens of a Leilani Estates resident. The purpose of this series is to give a little more understanding of what it was like for a volcano to erupt in the middle of a community in which you call home.
