Combined footage of the 2018 Kilauea Eruption, May 29th and 30th. In this episode large lava flows from fissure 8 wraps around the Puna Geothermal Venture property as the lava flow splits into multiple fingers running downslope. Reticulite covers the ground downwind of Fissure 8, and some of the issues around the late night evacuation of Kapoho. This series tells one version of the 2018 Kilauea eruption on the Lower East Rift Zone, where lava erupted in a residential neighborhood. The story is told through available footage from many sources, including USGS, Hawaii Count Civil Defense, DoD, National Guard, DLNR, and private citizens. This series will go through each day of the eruption and tell the story from the lens of a Leilani Estates resident.
