Combined footage of the 2018 Kilauea Eruption, June 10th and 11th. The height of the fountains of Fissure 8 drop, but eruptive volume remains high. Animal rescue efforts are taking place all around the eruption site. This series tells one version of the 2018 Kilauea eruption on the Lower East Rift Zone, where lava erupted in a residential neighborhood. The story is told through available footage from many sources, including USGS, Hawaii Count Civil Defense, DoD, National Guard, DLNR, and private citizens. This series will go through each day of the eruption and tell the story from the lens of a Leilani Estates resident.
