Drones On - July 7th to July 14th, 2018 Kilauea Eruption - Cherished Spots Lost

Combined footage of the 2018 Kilauea Eruption, July 7th through the 14th. In this episode the lower lava channel is compromised as a blockage near the Kapoho Crater (Green Mountain) diverts lava towards the Ahalanui warm pond and Kua O Ka La Charter School. The surges of Fissure 8 are becoming more pronounced as collapse event intervals at the summit slowly widen. Overflows of the upper lava channel results in more homes in Leilani Estates, as the few remaining homes in Kapoho are picked off one-by-one. This series tells one version of the 2018 Kilauea eruption on the Lower East Rift Zone, where lava erupted in a residential neighborhood. The story is told through available footage from many sources, including USGS, Hawaii County Civil Defense, DoD, National Guard, DLNR, and private citizens. This series will go through each day of the eruption and tell the story from the lens of a Leilani Estates resident. Footage in this episode courtesy of USGS, Hawaii County Civil Defense, HI Department of Defense, Mick Kalber, Ikaika Marzo, and Scott Wilson. https://youtu.be/xbf4vdWbW7I
