Drones On - July 22nd to 29th, 2018 Kilauea Eruption - Fires Along The Channel

Combined footage of the 2018 Kilauea Eruption, July 15th through the 21st. In this episode the a tour boat operating near the ocean entry is enveloped by a large explosion hurling molten lava onto tourists aboard the vessel. Lava gets closer and closer to the Pohoiki Boat Ramp as fire starts inside the Kipuka by Highway 132, burning homes spared by the lava to the ground. This series tells one version of the 2018 Kilauea eruption on the Lower East Rift Zone, where lava erupted in a residential neighborhood. The story is told through available footage from many sources, including USGS, Hawaii County Civil Defense, DoD, National Guard, DLNR, and private citizens. This series will go through each day of the eruption and tell the story from the lens of a Leilani Estates resident.
