Combined footage of the 2018 Kilauea Eruption, July 15th through the 21st. In this episode the a tour boat operating near the ocean entry is enveloped by a large explosion hurling molten lava onto tourists aboard the vessel. Surges and overflows of the channel walls are discussed further, and lava encroaches upon the Pohoiki Boat Ramp. This series tells one version of the 2018 Kilauea eruption on the Lower East Rift Zone, where lava erupted in a residential neighborhood. The story is told through available footage from many sources, including USGS, Hawaii County Civil Defense, DoD, National Guard, DLNR, and private citizens. This series will go through each day of the eruption and tell the story from the lens of a Leilani Estates resident.
