Situation Improves Significantly - Mana Road Fire Update, Aug 3, 2021
There have been real improvements overnight by those battling the Mana Road Fire. As such, the fire has been downgraded from an emergency situation to a normal fire operation by the county of Hawaii. - 75% containment - All public roads are open - Evacuations lifted - County is conducting damage assessments - Western edge of the fire is not longer threatening homes - Eastern edge has fire activity but is uninhabited, helicopter drops continue - Parker Ranch estimates a loss of roughly 100 animals, but thousands were saved by Paniolo - Air quality monitoring around west Hawaii shows fine particulate matter (PM2.5) has returned to "Green" levels; "air pollution poses little or no risk." ~ PurpleAir Video from Pohakuloa Training Area and 25th Combat Aviation Brigade
