Combined footage of the 2018 Kilauea Eruption, June 2st and 3rd. In this episode lava enters Green Lake (Kapoho Crater) and fully evaporates one of Hawaii's only lakes. Lava from Fissure 8 fans out before entering the Kapoho Farm Lots, residents watch as a slow moving disaster starts to remove the coastal community completely. Chain of Craters is bulldozed to create an alternative access route into Lower Puna as lava totally cuts off the Kapoho area. This series tells one version of the 2018 Kilauea eruption on the Lower East Rift Zone, where lava erupted in a residential neighborhood. The story is told through available footage from many sources, including USGS, Hawaii Count Civil Defense, DoD, National Guard, DLNR, and private citizens. This series will go through each day of the eruption and tell the story from the lens of a Leilani Estates resident.
