83 New Cases of COVID-19 in the state, Oct 6th

14 new cases via Hawaii DoH and HCCD. There have been a total of 834 (+14) confirmed cases on Hawaiʻi Island according to DoH, with 146 (-5 net) active cases of COVID-19 implied. As of yesterday, HMC reported 17 hospitalized in Hilo with COVID-19 (HCCD) Hawaii Island Deaths Total via HCCD: 32 (+2) -- "27 from the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home and 3 community at the Hilo Medical Center, 2 from Life Care Center" ... "The high increase of new cases is of great concern and demonstrates the critical need of following the preventive polices of face coverings, distancing, and gatherings. Much of this increase is due to clusters at the University of Nations in Kona and the Life Care Center in Hilo" ~ HMC 7-day average on test positivity on island is trending up, now at 2.9% (HDOH). Oct 5th had 341 tests processed on island. NOTE: Sundays and Mondays process less tests than the rest of the week. Total Cases Statewide: 12,937 (+83 today) Released from Isolation: 10,526 (+56) Total Required Hospitalization: 889 (0) Total Deaths: 160 (+3) (DOH)
