Blessing and Opening Of Highway 132 (Aerial Footage Start-to-Finish) Today was an historic day in Lower Puna as Highway 132 was officially reopened after receiving proper blessings. The community came together to celebrate the new roadway's first day open to the public with a last minute blessing arranged only last night. Many from the community gathered prior to the roadway officially opening to celebrate the event and ensure the road opened according to local tradition. Many cheered, some wept, and many drove the roadway to see the lava flows and lava channels up close for the first time. The roadway offers incredible views of the Fissure 8 channel and its massive lava flows.
