6 new cases on island via Hawaii DoH. There have been a total of 2,122 (+6 today) confirmed cases on Hawaiʻi Island according to DoH. There has been 116 cases on island in the last two weeks. 2 hospitalized on the island via last report (HCCD). Civil Defense has also stated that most of the recent cases have been travel related. Hawaii Island Deaths Total: 51 – "7 community at the Hilo Medical Center, 4 community at the Kona Community Hospital, 10 from Life Care Center, per their website, 27 from the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home." (HMC, Life Care Center). Three fatalities are outstanding from classification. Dept of Health is two days behind on the 7-day average tracking of test positivity; the latest positivity rate is at 1.2% on island, and the state's positivity is now at 2.4%. On Friday, (1.22.20) there were 519 tests processed in Hawaii County. 951 passenger arrivals on island Jan 21th. On December 26th there were 2,333 passenger arrivals, surpassing the previous record for most arrivals since the March and the start of the 14 days quarantine. Passenger arrivals have returned to levels close to those seen on the October 15th 'reopening' and the beginning of the pre-travel screening program. STATE STATS: Total Cases Statewide: 25,154 (+153* today) Cases in the past 14 days: 1,700 Total Hospitalizations: 1,660 (+3) Total Deaths: 342 (+6) * As a result of updated information, one case on Oahu and one case on the Island of Hawaii were removed from the count, and two cases on Oahu were recategorized to the Island of Hawaii. ~ DoH NOTE: Dept of Health on Big Island are at least a 1 month behind in processing deaths. DoH now lists 45 deaths of 51 reported by HCCD
