110 New Cases of COVID-19 in the state, Nov 13th

8 new cases on island via Hawaii DoH and HCCD. There have been a total of 1,459 (+8) confirmed cases on Hawaiʻi Island according to DoH. There have been 199 cases on island in the last two weeks. As of yesterday there were 10 hospitalized on the island (HCCD). Data from the Department of Health clearly shows that the majority of those now being affected on Hawaii Island are between the ages of 1 and 40 years and are West Hawaii based. (HCCD) Hawaii Island Deaths Total: 48 (0) – "7 community at the Hilo Medical Center, 4 community at the Kona Community Hospital, 10 from Life Care Center, per their website, 27 from the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home." (HMC, Life Care Center). Yesterday, 7-day average on test positivity on island was at 1.7%, the state's positivity rate is now at 2.2%. Yesterday there was 867 tests processed on island. 822 passenger arrivals on island Nov 12th. Visitation has not really changed from the initial Oct 15th reopening almost 1 month later. STATE STATS: Total Cases Statewide: 16,412 (+110 today) Cases in the past 14 days: **1,414 Total Hospitalizations: 1,194 (+7) Total Deaths: 222 (0) NOTE: Only 31 of HI's 48 deaths have been added to records by DoH, there is at least a 1 month delay. **Using cases reported in the past 14 days provides a rough approximation of the number of cases currently meeting criteria for isolation. This proxy number for “active cases” resolves classification issues for cases unable to be reached or who are out of jurisdiction, for whom precise release from isolation date may not be possible to determine.
