STATE STATS: Total Cases Statewide: 27,503 (+106* today) Cases in the past 14 days: 623 Total Hospitalizations: 1,865 (+3) Total Deaths: 439 (+2) *As a result of updated information, two cases on Oahu were removed from the counts. ** Dept of Health is two days behind on the 7-day average tracking of test positivity. On Sundays and Mondays there are less tests processed than during the rest of the week. § Today’s counts include 31 historic cases from the island of Maui not previously confirmed due to a laboratory reporting issue. These cases occurred between 11/9/2020 and 2/18/2021. While these cases do appear as “new” compared to previous cumulative totals on the DOCD main page, they are not included in the current 7-day averages. On our Hawaii COVID-19 Data page, these historic cases will be added to the counts according to the date of test result, rather than the date of test report. Additionally, electronic test results are being newly received from a Maui testing site, resulting in approximately 16,500 newly reported historic negative results from November to present now included in the Maui and statewide testing counts. These historic results are also incorporated according to the date of test result. This impact of this addition is a modest flattening of Maui’s historic percent positive testing curve. Maui’s current 7-day percent positivity is not significantly affected.
